If you’re the kind of mechanic who likes figuring out what’s wrong, getting your hands dirty, and getting equipment back to work, this could be the opportunity for you. We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on mechanic who can tackle hydraulic and mechanical issues, work independently, and step up as a leader when needed. You’ll earn $27/hour with overtime opportunities, receive comprehensive benefits, and have room to grow your career with a team that values your skills and experience.
Pro Star Rental is looking for a Lead Mechanic to join their team in Nacogdoches, TX.
If you have hands-on mechanic experience with heavy equipment and hydraulic hoses, this is an opportunity you need to explore!
Why skilled mechanics are joining the Pro Star team:
- Competitive pay: earn $27/hour, plus overtime opportunities
- Comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, AD&D, 401(k) with match, PTO, and paid holidays
- Paths for advancement in Nacogdoches, or any other Pro Star location
- Unmatched company culture: this independent company offers much less micromanagement, overhead and red tape than a big-box store. Be a name even the CEO knows, not just a number with this team that prioritizes celebrating employees’ wins
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a hands-on Lead Mechanic, performing repairs and maintenance while helping guide other mechanics in the shop.
- Independently diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment issues, determining the appropriate repairs without relying on constant supervision.
- Maintain and repair rental equipment including skid steers, excavators, and other construction equipment.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, with a strong focus on hydraulic hoses, fittings, leaks, cylinders, and related components.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and routine service to keep rental equipment safe and ready for customers.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues and complete repairs as needed, with less emphasis on major engine work.
- Help prioritize repairs and support other technicians with difficult troubleshooting or repair issues.
- Inspect completed work to ensure equipment meets company safety and quality standards before returning to service.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records and communicate equipment needs, parts requirements, and repair status to the appropriate team members.
