Gibbs Die Casting, manufacturer of precision die-cast aluminum, is seeking an 2nd shift Occupational Nurse to join their team in the Henderson, KY area.
If you are an RN with at least 3 years of experience in occupational health, acute care, urgent care, ER, ICU, Orthopedic, Family Practice or related field, Gibbs wants to hear from you!

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains an attitude that is Team oriented and facilitates a positive work environment.
- Evaluates medical conditions of new and existing team members.
- Takes patient’s vital signs, treats wounds, and evaluates physical condition of patient.
- Coordinates pre-employment and return to work physical examination processes. Monitors medical changes and fitness for work through audiometric, drug and alcohol, hypertension, and pulmonary function testing programs.
- Responds to all occupational and non-occupational medical emergencies – must display good nursing judgment at all times and call EMS as needed.
- Contacts Physician and hospital to arrange for further medical treatment when needed.
- Works to promote employee programs such as health education, accident prevention, alcohol abuse counseling, curtailment of smoking, and weight control regimens.
- Schedules appointments.
- Schedules and Conducts Hearing Tests.
- Answers phones in a courteous and professional manner.
- Explains FMLA, disability and medical leave programs to Team Members, in addition to completing necessary paperwork for these programs.
- Maintains team member medical, disability, and worker’s compensation files.
- Completes worker’s compensation paperwork and files claims with carrier, including updating the OSHA 300 Log.
- Assists with tracking restricted and loss days for work related injuries.
- Collects urine and/or oral samples for drug screening purposes following Chain of Command with no variances.
- Tracks DOT physicals and licensure keeping them current at all times.
- Stocks supplies at the end of every shift and conducts monthly inventory of medical supplies.
- Keeps workspace and counters clean and organized.
- Prepares Biohazard waste for pick up on a biweekly basis and takes out Biohazard bags as needed.
- Participates in the “on-call” program as scheduled.
- Follows all prescribed safety regulations including the proper use of all required personal protective equipment.
- Follows all Environmental Policy and Quality Policy guidelines.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
