Manufacturing Engineer – Weld Process Manager

Precision Pulley & Idler, a worldwide industry leader in conveying components, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer – Weld Process Manager to join their team in Pella, IA. 

Minimum requirements:  

• Bachelor’s Degree in Welding Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology, or Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering with welding emphasis or equivalent relevant work experience in Welding Engineering. 
• CWI or CWE certification 
• 25% travel required, mostly domestic.  
• Certification in International welding standards (beneficial but not required).

Essential duties/responsibilities: 

• Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of the welding certification program across multiple factory locations. 
• Provide innovative weld solutions to solve engineering challenges in production, quality control, and continuous improvement initiatives. 
• Integrate new weld equipment and modify existing equipment to enhance production capabilities and efficiency. 
• Lead and coordinate medium to large-scale projects. Manage project budgets and expenses while implementing new technologies. 
• Identify and engage with contractors and suppliers to implement new technologies and cost-effective solutions. 
• Evaluate and optimize welding processes for new and existing products to achieve optimal cost and quality standards. 
• Review customer requested procedures and welding specifications 
• Conduct weld failure reviews and determine corrective action to reduce failure rate 
• Develop cost-saving ideas and lead projects aimed at reducing operational expenses. 
• Support continuous improvement projects across all weld production areas.
