Beacon Recycling, provider of scrap metal management, is seeking a Diesel Technician to join their team in Grand Rapids, MI.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintains expert knowledge of, and advanced working proficiency in, the following vehicle components and systems:
  • Chassis component repair and maintenance
  • Multiple and steerable lift axels
  • PTO components
  • USDOT inspections
  • Refuse bodies, including air and electric controls
  • Air and hydraulic braking systems
  • Engine repair and after treatment maintenance
  • Suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems
  • Heating and air conditioning systems
• Occasional yard equipment service and repair
• Assist in coordinating daily ship operations and ensuring timely completion of repair tasks
• Performs computer repair diagnostics to determine root cause of issue
• Identifies the source of malfunctions using a variety of electronic tools
• Work effectively with team members at all levels of the company as a positive, professional example
• Represent the company in a professional and ethical manner consistent with our mission statement
• Roadside repair and maintenance utilizing a company service truck
• Occasional weekend needed
• Other duties as assigned
