Duties and Responsibilities:
- Check equipment and supplies required for scheduled work; comply with PPE requirements and prepare for assigned duties
- Use manuals (service, repair, parts, and diagrams) to independently troubleshoot and repair construction equipment
- Operate lift trucks, overhead cranes, and other equipment to move or position parts for repair
- Use hand and power tools to remove, install, replace, rebuild, repair, and test parts on construction equipment
- Utilize computers and systems to reference parts, access information, and enter data into record systems
- Disassemble and reassemble components; clean parts using rags, cleaners, and power washers; use diagnostic tools to test and repair equipment
- Climb onto, under, and into vehicles to access all necessary components
- Operate hoists, forklifts, and other lifting devices to remove and transport heavy components (e.g., tracks, idlers, blades) for repair and reinstallation
- Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced repairs on engines, powertrain, hydraulic, and electrical systems across multiple equipment models
- Lift, carry, and position tools (e.g., rams) to remove and reinstall components such as idlers
- Use power washers and spray-paint equipment to clean and refinish machinery
- Use instruments and computer systems to reprogram equipment controllers
