Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform start-up, commissioning, and testing of Caterpillar generator systems (10 kW to multi-megawatt), including control programming (EMCP, DGC, MCP/LSM)
- Configure and validate system performance including load sharing, paralleling, governor/AVR settings, and power factor controls
- Conduct load bank testing, system diagnostics, and performance verification to ensure reliable operation
- Start up, test, and troubleshoot Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) systems across multiple manufacturers; verify sequencing, controls, and NFPA 110 compliance
- Support switchgear integration by performing I/O checks, system verification, and troubleshooting of breakers, relays, and protection circuits
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system issues, performing root-cause analysis to improve reliability and performance
- Follow and enforce safety standards (NFPA 70E, LOTO), maintain accurate documentation, and coordinate with engineers, contractors, and customers throughout project execution
