Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs (G-code) for milling machines based on engineering drawings and specifications.
- Read and analyze blueprints, CAD models, and work instructions to determine machining requirements, tolerances, and tooling needs
- Assist with or perform machine setup, including tool selection, fixture setup, and initial test runs to ensure programs run correctly
- Improve cycle times, tool life, and overall efficiency while maintaining quality standards
- Determine appropriate cutting tools, tool paths, speeds, and feeds for various materials and part geometries
- Keep accurate records of programs, setups, tooling lists, and process changes
- Work closely with machinists, engineers, and production staff to improve processes and resolve issues
